When God’s Spirit Moves – Day 22: Isaiah 42

... But this is a people plundered and looted;
   they are all of them trapped in holes
   and hidden in prisons;
they have become plunder with none to rescue,
   spoil with none to say, “Restore!”

LORD, this is our country, our town, our friends and family.  Maybe even a few of us.  Jehovah, our culture screams at us to consume ad nauseam in every way we can.  Consequently, instead of being the masters of the stuff, the people have become plundered and looted themselves - trapped and hidden in inescapable places.  Holy Spirit, You are the One to speak rescue and restoration to them; but You do it through Your tabernacles ... through the faithful body of believers.  Open our eyes, unplug our ears, teach us understanding that we may, that I may be one You use to rescue and restore the imprisoned and pit-dwellers.  We need Your revelation to see the holes and prisons in the lives of ourselves and our people. We need to learn the language of liberty and how to effectively communicate with one whose habits have taught them the speech of the shackled and dialogs of darkness.  I need courage to engage those who despise my Lord Jesus. Gracious and Holy Spirit, You renovate lives - may I be a helpful and functioning member of Your team...to the praise of the Eternal Kingdom and the King who is enthroned on the highest and most awe-inspiring of thrones.
