And the word of the Lord came to Elijah the
Tishbite, saying, “See how Ahab has humbled himself before Me? Because
he has humbled himself before Me, I will not bring the calamity in his
days.”
Lord, help me to understand that my wickedness is like Ahab’s, that I
must humble myself before You. I must choose to always humble myself
before You, as my mind’s preoccupation is not naturally humble. You
give me holiness; but only as I empty myself of me. God, let my need
for You never escape my attention.
