The Philistines couldn't get past their first impression of David. I see that as a mercy for David who was expected to fight against his people in this gathering. Lord God You are never out-maneuvered by a person's history, behavior nor reputation. I praise You that Your hand is steady and true. Please steady me in You that my impression-given and reputation-cultivated would be worthy of one who bears Your Name. I thank You for the opportunities You grant me and I trust in those You remove from me. You are glorious and right in all Your dealings.
